Join the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center for our 15th annual Illustrated Accordion exhibition.

Each year the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center (KBAC) sponsors a non-juried exhibition The Illustrated Accordion, showing in the KBAC Gallery in spring. Open to all emerging and established artists, this exhibition focuses on books created in the accordion form.

The Illustrated Accordion exhibition focuses on books created in the accordion form. The structure of an accordion book is simple: a long piece of paper is folded into pages that can be read like a book or spread open and displayed like a banner. Featuring works of book artists from all over the world, the books in this exhibit take this book form to a new level.

It is no secret that I love books and libraries. This exhibition melds the two together!

I am honored to be a part of the annual Art of the Book Exhibition held at the Rochester Public Library.

Artist books from around the world will be on display in the Anthony Mascioli Gallery.

According to the Smithsonian Institute Library blog, “An artist’s book is a medium of artistic expression that uses the form or function of ‘book’ as inspiration. It is the artistic initiative seen in the illustration, choice of materials, creation process, layout and design that makes it an art object. ...”

Summer markets are back! Take advantage of this awesome opportunity to purchase handmade art from 100+ local artists and makers in historic Bronson Park. This two day event will host a wide range of goods like jewelry, photography, sculpture, painting, ceramics, glasswork, fiber, leather, wood and more!

The weekend will be hopping with the kick off of the Do-Dah Parade and Pride Fest going on in the downtown area. Admission to all events is free and open to the public.

The work of West Michigan’s talented community of visual artists is on display at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts’ annual West Michigan Area Show.

Since the 1960s, this annual juried exhibition has showcased exceptional work in all media, drawing hundreds of entries from a 14-county region. Each year, an experienced juror chooses the artists from more than 300 submitted entries, ranging from paintings, prints and photos to mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and mixed-media works.

Please join me and my fellow West Michigan artists for this fun, annual exhibition.

All are welcome to the Morgan Paper Conservatory’s 11th Annual Juried Exhibition juried by Alexandra Coon and J. Leigh Garcia. The theme of this exhibition is “Moments of Transformation.”

This year, the Morgan received over 240 submissions for the National Juried Exhibition. The Jurors hand selected 55 works of art that represent 43 artists. While a handful of these artists are based in Ohio, this exhibition represents 22 states ranging from Texas all the way to Connecticut.
